New “Very Peri” Wallpaper – Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2022

“Very Peri” – Pantone Colour of the Year 2022.

Pantone colour institute has recently announced its colour of the year for 2022, and it’s quite different this year. Because for the first time in history, the institute introduced a brand new colour.  “Very Peri” shade was created completely from scratch as a combination of blue and purple. The “Peri” in “Very Peri” represents periwinkle, that blue colour in the periwinkle flower. While the blue in “Very Peri” represents trust and security, the red element means vibrance, excitement, and change. The constancy of blue blends with the energy of red, encouraging inventiveness and creativity.

“Very Peri” symbolises the transformation of the physical and digital world which has emerged following lockdowns and isolations. According to Pantone, the new shade shows “a carefree confidence and a daring curiosity that animates our creative spirit”.  It is a really beautiful colour and there are many ways to use it.

We love the dynamic periwinkle blue hue with a vivifying violet-red undertone! Inspired by Pantone’s colour choice, we created the Periwinkle colourway for our new wallpaper design Alice. 

Alice Periwinkle floral wallpaper has a soft palette of periwinkle blue, lilac, and pastel pink hues. This dreamy scheme works beautifully with the hand-painted floral pattern. And, while the colour palette was inspired by Pantone colour of the year “Very Peri”, the print embodies stylised botanicals of an old Russian wood painting style called Khokhloma. We printed Alice Periwinkle on a new ”Mica” paper, which has a lovely shimmer and adds a touch of glamour to the design.
